Unbox and inspect the device
Check seals, packaging, and the device screen. If anything looks tampered with, stop and contact support via the pages linked at
Trezor.io/Start.
Connect and visit the official onboarding
Use the included cable to connect your Trezor to your computer. Then navigate directly to
Trezor.io/Start to detect your model and begin.
Install Trezor Suite
Download Trezor Suite (desktop is recommended) from links surfaced at
Trezor.io/Start. Open the installer, follow prompts, and launch Suite.
Update firmware (if prompted)
Suite will prompt you to install or update device firmware. Confirm on the device screen. Keep your device connected and do not disconnect until it completes.
Create a new wallet
Choose Create new wallet in Suite and confirm on your Trezor. This initializes a secure seed that only your device knows.
Back up your recovery seed
Write down the words shown on your device screen, in order, on the provided cards. Never photograph, copy/paste, or store the seed online. Verify word order when asked.
Set a strong PIN (and optional passphrase)
Create a PIN you can remember but others can’t guess. For advanced protection, enable passphrase (a secret added to your seed) inside Suite’s settings.
Enable coin accounts and receive
In Suite, add the accounts you plan to use (e.g., BTC, ETH). To receive, generate an address and verify it on your device screen before sharing.
Send a test transaction
When sending, compare the destination address on the computer with the one on your device. Approve only if they match. Start with a small amount to test.
Rehearse disaster recovery
Practice how you would recover your wallet on a spare device or a safe test environment. The recovery steps are always linked via
Trezor.io/Start.
